What do I get when I register?

What you get when you register: Amazing climbing opportunities with expert guides, and entry into Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night activities. 

Where do I check in?

If you are registered for one or more clinics, you will need to check in at Cody Cattle Co on either Thursday, January 4th 4-6PM, or any other evening but before your first clinic. 

Where do the clinics meet?

All clinics meet at 6:45AM at Cody Cattle Co to make contact with guides.  

Clinic participants and guides will leave Cody Cattle Co at 7AM sharp for either South Fork or Pilot Creek.

  • South Fork estimated drive time one-way: 45mins-1.5 hours
  • Pilot Creek estimated drive time one-way: 1.5-1.75 hours

Several clinics will include long approaches – please be prepared for potentially long and strenuous hikes before the ice even begins – as well as the hike out after climbing.  Approach times are listed in the description of each clinic.

Can I demo gear?

Yes, a number of items will be available to demo during your clinic!

Clinic participants will be required to return demo gear no later than 3:30PM at designated locations:

  • Ishawooa Mesa Trailhead on the South Fork
  • Pilot Creek Trailhead at Pilot Creek

What happens at night?

All evening activities begin at 7PM at the Cody Cattle Co, doors will open at 6PM.

Can my child participate?

Clinic participants must be 14 or older and be able to wear adult size harness and boots if they don’t have their own gear. Please make sure to sign the Participant Waiver and include a parent or legal guardian signature!

Lodging & Travel

Lodging

Best Western Ivy Inn & Suites is offering a special rate to WIF participants of $115 for a 2 queen bed room.  Rooms are limited so book soon!  The Best Western Ivy in is located between downtown Cody and the Cody Cattle Co, where evening activities will take place.  The Best Western also boasts one of the best restaurants and bars in town.  

There are several other hotel options around Cody.

Airports

Yellowstone Regional Airport – located in Cody (5 minute drive from town)

Billings-Logan International Airport – located in Billings, MT (1.5+ hour drive from Cody)

Rental vehicles are recommended for those who fly in for the festival.  There will be no shuttles to and from the climbing areas on the South Fork or Pilot Creek.  Attendees will be encouraged to caravan and/or carpool to climbing areas.
